Best play dough recipe we've come across.
  • 2 cups of plain flour (cheap flour works better)
  • 1 cup of salt
  • 2 cups of boiling water (hold down kettle button to get it rapidly boiling)
  • 4 teaspoons of cream of tartar
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • Food colouring
        • Put flour, salt, cream of tartar in a large bowl
Put oil and food colouring into the cup and add boiling water, then add to mixture
Add second cup of boiling water and mix quickly
Turn out onto floured surface and kneed well
          Store in an airtight container

If you want to make different colours from the one batch you can kneed in food colouring, rather than adding it with the water.
