Father's Day Card
To create a personal card for Father's Day
You need: A4 Card
Paints, green, white yellow and red.
Red paper or white paper to colour
Scissors
Glue
Glitter optional
What to do:
On a folded pick of card let the children make a hand print with the green paint. This is the plant.
Let them finger paint a white dot on the top of each finger, and then in another colour finger paint the petals around.
Cut out a plant pot shape and stick on. Glitter can be added to the pot.
Alternatively:
Fold a piece of paper or card and let the children draw, paint, sponge etc to decorate it. Then tell the child you would like to tell their father what they like about them by writing their words inside the card. Ask the child what daddy does that they like, where does daddy take them, what games does he play with them.
I had some interesting responses such as "daddy tickles me, he makes bottom noises which makes mummy cross and daddy laugh". Some of the comments I didn't understand but the dads did and they are always well received, because we all like to hear nice things about us and we don't often bother to say them.
