Bubble Pipe
This is an simple to make bubble pipe which encourages young children to form a close seal with their lips, thereby, helping with speech development. You will need:
A polystyrene cup
A straw cut to about 10cm long
J-cloth
An elastic band
Bubble mixture
A sharp pencil
Scissors
Punch a hole in the side of the polystyrene cup about half way up so the straw will go in.
Cut a circle of the J-cloth which is about 2-3 cm wider than the cup.
Place the circle of J-cloth over the top of the cup and secure it onto the cup with the elastic band.
Push the straw into the cup and you now have your pipe.
Invert the pipe into a saucer of bubble mixture wetting the J-cloth.
With the J-cloth upper most blow through the straw to create a stream of bubbles which cascade over the edge. The good thing about this bubble pipe is that the children can't suck up any bubble mixture into their mouths if they breathe in.
